BTZ, Inc. to Pay $110,000 Penalty to Resolve Asbestos and Air Quality Violations in Yuma County
The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) and Arizona Attorney General's Office announced today that BTZ, Inc. has agreed to pay a $110,000 penalty for asbestos and air quality violations from its demolition activities and asphalt plant that occurred in Yuma County.

South Yuma County Landfill, L.L.C. to Pay $70,000 Penalty to Resolve Air Quality Violations at its Yuma County Facility
The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) and Arizona Attorney General's Office announced today that South Yuma County Landfill, LLC (SYCL) has agreed to pay a $70,000 penalty for failure to obtain an air quality permit at its municipal solid waste landfill in Yuma County from 2000 until 2009.

ADEQ Officials Announce $51,500 Grant to Cottonwood for Assessment of a Brownfields Site in Old Town
Arizona Department of Environmental Quality officials announced today that a $51,500 Brownfields grant has been awarded to the City of Cottonwood in Yavapai County to complete an environmental evaluation of a former recycling collection site at 1032 N. First St., where the city wants to build a parking lot, park and picnic area.

Arizona Department of Environmental Quality officials announced today that they will have their first Free Electronics Waste Recycling Event on Native American land at the Hopi Veterans Memorial Center on Saturday, Sept. 17 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Memorial Center is located 3 miles west of the Hopi Cultural Center.
