High pressure will build into the area over the next few days and bring the hottest temperatures of 2018 (so far). Along with the above normal temperatures will be a tight pressure gradient and strong easterly winds. Blowing dust along with elevated PM10 on Friday bring a high dust risk. The winds will eventually diminish late Friday night/early Saturday but still keep an easterly wind direction. So light easterly winds usually result in high PM10 concentrations for the Hidden Valley monitor, so have kept a high dust risk for Saturday, mainly for the possibility that Hidden Valley may exceed the PM10 health standard. Sunday will feature better chances for storm activity over the eastern mountains rolling off and down into the desert locations and bringing strong outflow winds and blowing dust, thus high dust risk. Monday looks to be a transition day with not much activity expected, the high dust risk forecast is mainly for Hidden Valley. Looks to be better chances for outflows and blowing dust on Tuesday and so have a high dust risk forecast.
