New Mexico Contractor to Pay $225,000 Penalty for Asbestos Air Quality Violations in Holbrook during Dorm Demolition
PHOENIX: The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality and Arizona Attorney General's Office announced today that an Albuquerque, N.M., contractor has agreed to pay a $225,000 penalty under a consent judgment for asbestos air quality violations that occurred during the 2007 demolition of the Bureau of Indian Affairs school dormitory in Holbrook.

ADEQ Announces Free Electronics Waste Recycling Event will be held Jan. 30 at Whole Foods Markets in Tucson
PHOENIX: Arizona Department of Environmental Quality officials announced today that a free electronics waste recycling event for residents of Tucson and the surrounding area will be held Saturday, Jan. 30 from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the parking lots of Whole Foods Markets at 3360 E. Speedway Blvd. and 7133 N. Oracle Road.

ADEQ Announces Free Electronics Waste Recycling Event will be held Jan. 16 in Sun City West for northwest Valley region
PHOENIX: Arizona Department of Environmental Quality officials announced today that the first major free electronics waste recycling event for Sun City West, Sun City and surrounding communities in the northwest Valley will be held Saturday, Jan. 16 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the parking lot of the Sun City West Sundome, 19403 R.H. Johnson Blvd.

Sustainability Panel to hold initial meeting January 8
PHOENIX: The Governor's Blue Ribbon Panel on Water Sustainability will hold its first meeting January 8 at the Arizona Department of Water Resources in Phoenix. Gov. Jan Brewer announced formation of the group August 28. Its charge is to improve statewide water sustainability in a variety of ways, including increased recycling and conservation.
