Arizona Department of Environmental Quality officials announced today that a free managing hazardous waste and biohazardous medical waste workshop for hospitals and health clinics will be held in the Navajo Nation community of Chinle on Thursday, June 6.

ADEQ Issues a High Pollution Advisory (HPA) for PM2.5 for the remainder of Friday, Saturday, Sunday, May 24-26, in the Nogales Area
The HPA is being issued because of smoke impacts from a rapidly growing wildfire about 15 miles south/southeast of Nogales in the Mexican state of Sonora and several other new fire starts in the area.

ADEQ Issues a High Pollution Advisory (HPA) for PM10 for the remainder of Friday, May 3
This HPA is being issued because wind from the east transported a large amount of dust into the Phoenix metropolitan area from southwestern New Mexico and northern Mexico on Friday morning. Satellite imagery captured the large cloud of dust moving westward. Large increases in PM10 levels were noted in southeastern Arizona on Thursday.
