SCHOOL PROGRAMS
School programs are a great opportunity to educate children and their families on the importance of recycling e-waste. Schools can effectively publicize when e-waste collection events are coming up and may have recently replaced out-of-date electronics that are stored in the building. When planning an e-waste event in your community it is important to also contact the local school district(s) to see if they have any electronics that they are looking to recycle properly. Other local businesses may be great resources for locating old e-waste that needs to be recycled as well. Get the community involved by starting with educating the children.
Below are some school curriculum programs that can be shared with your local school district(s). By working closely with the schools in your community you will create awareness among the children regarding the importance of recycling e-waste which carries over to their home life and in turn educates the entire family. Create a partnership with local educators to bring fun and creative ideas to the children which will turn them into all-star recyclers. Utilize schools and other community organizations to get the word out about your upcoming e-waste event!
